At present the following international projects are being executed at the Institute:

  • 6th Framework Programme, projects:
    • STREAM “Novel drilling system for cost effective extraction of the 30 million tons of ornamental stone blocks in Europe with lower environmental impact,”
    • WEMESURF “Characterisation of wear mechanisms and surface functionalities with regard to life time prediction and quality criteria from the micro to the nano range;”

Moreover, the Institute realizes the projects in the frame of inter-governmental agreements with the following countries/institutions:

  • China – The Research Institute of Surface Engineering – in the framework of the agreement on scientific and technological cooperation between governments of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Poland,
  • Ukraine – The Surface Engineering Institute – in the framework of the agreement on scientific and technological cooperation in the field of developing and implementing new PVD technologies and increasing competence of specialists in this area, - The National Science Centre – in the framework of the agreement on scientific and technological cooperation in the field of surface engineering,
  • Mexico – The Universidad de Monterrey and Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon – in the framework of the agreements in the field of tribological research, surface engineering, scientific staff development,
  • South Korea – The TriboSolution Corp. – in the framework of the contract for exclusive distribution in South Korea of tribological devices developed and produced by the ITeE – PIB.
